There used to be a time when violent fighting among teen girls was discouraged as they grew into womanhood. That time seems to be long gone with social media postings of girl fights by the hundreds available and becoming popular. One thing is for sure: teen girl fights today can be shockingly violent. This has been proven by the case of 18-year-old Amber Romero of Wake County, North Carolina. While riding on the school bus, witnesses claim that Romero was hit in the face with a lunch bag by Emiyah Lane Brown, 16. This started a violent fight in which Romero bit off the right earlobe of Brown.

Brown was rushed to the hospital and required emergency surgery to reattach the piece of her ear. Romero was arrested and charged with assault, and inflicting serious bodily injury. The teen appeared in court recently and her bail was set at $15K. The judge turned down the defense request to reduce the bail amount. This was due in part to the violent nature of the assault and the fact that Romero has another outstanding assault charge.

The young teen’s mother, Rynee Romero, stated, “I really truly feel sorry for the family and we, me and my daughter, sincerely apologize and we both hate it that this happened to her. We really did. You know, I’m sorry that this happened. I just want to apologize to her and the family on the behalf of me and my daughter.”

Her mother blames the current and past assault on the fact that her daughter was being bullied in high school. Social media has now labeled the young teen “Miss Tyson” because of the infamous Heavyweight boxing match between Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield. During that fight, Tyson, after repeated head butts from Holyfield, bit off a chunk of Holyfield’s ear.

The teen is still in the Wake County Jail as the family attempts to raise bail money.
