The women of the Kardashian and Jenner families have never been slackers when it comes to taking advantage of career opportunities, and Caitlyn Jenner is clearly no different because reports have surfaced that she’s landed an acting role on the hit Amazon series “Transparent.”

“Transparent” is a comedy-drama about a Los Angeles family dealing with the revelation that their father has come out as a transgender woman. Producers also make it a point to cast actual trans actors and writers to help tell stories that are authentic to the trans experience. The series won over both fans and critics during its debut season last year and even took home a Golden Globe Award.

According to media reports, “Transparent” creator and executive producer Jill Soloway announced that she’d cast Jenner in a role for the show’s upcoming third season during an interview at the recent GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles, where “Transparent” was named  Outstanding Comedy Series. Soloway also revealed that Jenner will begin filming for the show sometime this week.

“We are all part of the same community,” Soloway told the AP. “A lot of the transwomen who work on our show are also in her show ‘I Am Cait’. Lots of crossover. Lots of friends.”

Despite revealing the casting choice, Soloway declined to share with the press any details about the kind of character that Jenner will be playing on the show.

This casting comes as a definite change of pace for Jenner who has spent the last several years appearing on “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” before landing her own reality series, “I Am Cait,” after she transitioned from Bruce to Caitlyn. This is also a much-needed opportunity for Jenner as reports have been flying that ratings have plummeted for the second season of “I Am Cait” and that E! is considering canceling the show.
