When Will Smith signed on to join the cast of DC’s super-villain super group film Suicide Squad, we’re sure he expected to see some pretty wild and crazy things on set while surrounded by some of DC Universe’s most dark and sadistic villains. But what he didn’t expect was that one of his co-stars would delve so deep into his villainous role that he’d start pulling vile pranks in real life. But according to new media reports, one of Smith’s co-stars sent him and the rest of the cast some pretty disgusting x-rated gifts during filming.

According to media reports, the cast of Suicide Squad recently spoke about the upcoming film on the red carpet and actor Jared Leto, who plays the iconic villain The Joker, confirmed the rumors that he sent the entire cast dead rats, dead pigs, anal beads and used condoms.

“I did a lot of things to create a dynamic to create an element of surprise, a spontaneity and to really break down any kind of walls that may be there,” Leto explained while promoting the movie. “The Joker is somebody who doesn’t really respect things like personal space or boundaries.”

Smith, who plays the villain Deadshot in the film, was also on the red carpet and opened up about the crazy gifts he received from Leto. Although most people would be disgusted, and we’re sure that Smith was to some degree, he explained that he understood the method behind Leto’s madness.

“He went full Joker,” Smith said, adding, “He really set the tone. He wasn’t playing with it. He was dead serious as an actor. He was going in and he was 100 percent going into this character.”

Actor Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, who plays Killer Croc in the film, opened up even more about the strange gifts and explained that he even received “sticky Playboy magazines” from Leto, as well as one of the infamous dead pigs.

“That was a good gift because it had the effect of unifying us as a group because then it became us against him,” Akinnuoye-Agbake said. “We sent the messenger back with the dead pig and our own personalized message. It got the ball rolling.”

Clearly Leto was completely committed to his role as The Joker. And although some fans might be freaked out by the news of his “gifts,” we have a feeling that his level of commitment may have helped make the acting between him and the other actors that much better. At least we hope it did. If nothing else, thought, at least everyone in the cast has a hilariously nasty story to tell about their time on set.
