Eugena Washington, 31, has been named Playboy’s 2016 Playmate of the Year. A native of South Carolina, Washington is the third Black woman to earn the title after being Playboy’s Playmate of the Month in December 2015. She was only the 57th woman to be named Playmate of the Month.
Washington’s status as Playmate of the Year comes after many years of hard work in the fashion and entertainment industries as a working model. She is best known for being second runner-up on “America’s Next Top Model” in 2006. She also starred in the music video for B.o.B’s single “Nothin’ on You.” In addition to appearing on “The Bold and the Beautiful,” the Elite Model Management signed beauty worked with CoverGirl, Clinique, Macy’s, Target and Avon. She’s also walked for Christian Audigier, Paris Hilton Sportswear, Teen Vogue and Vans.
As the 2016 Playmate of the Year, Washington will be featured on the cover of the magazine’s June issue in a 10-page spread. Washington told the magazine, “It’s a great time for this … The world is changing. I hope this brings different eyes to the magazine and new audiences. This is a story and a chapter in my life to build around. I’m enjoying the ride, and right now I’m doing whatever I want to do, day by day. That’s how I live. That’s what my life is about. As long as I’m doing what I want to do, I’m happy. Right now, being a part of Playboy is what I want to do.”
Washington’s Playboy honor comes with $100K in prize money and a two-year lease on a 2017 Fiat 124 Spider.
On Twitter, the South Carolina beauty shares wise words for people out there who may be pursuing their dreams. “God’s timing is always perfect,” she says. “Just enjoy the ride … ”
So, what do you think of Washington snagging such an auspicious title? Is the brown bombshell at the top of your list?
