Caitlyn Jenner arguably became the world’s most famous transgender celebrity after she came out in an iconic interview last year before completing her gender transition. Since then, Jenner has been on a whirlwind media ride, landing magazine covers, endorsement deals, launching her own reality show and even earning the Woman of the Year award at Glamour’s Women of the Year Awards. But recently rumors have begun to spread that Jenner wasn’t happy with her life as a trans woman and that she was considering going back to being a man. However, Jenner recently opened up about the rumors and set the record straight on the matter.

According to media reports, the rumors began after Ian Halperin, who wrote the new book, Kardashian Dynasty: The Controversial Rise of America’s Royal Family, claimed that several sources told him that Jenner was miserable in her new life as a trans woman after enduring a year of scrutiny and harsh criticism.

“One source confirmed to me Caitlyn has made whispers of ‘sex change regret,’ hinting she might go back to being Bruce Jenner,” Halperin said.

The source’s comments echo sentiments Jenner shared in her Vanity Fair interview last year when she revealed that she suffered a brief panic attack after she saw the results of her facial feminization surgery.

“What did I just do?” Jenner recalled. “What did I just do to myself?”

Another alleged friend claimed that Jenner was happy to have brought trans issues to the forefront, but that she would de-transition in the next couple of years.

“It hasn’t been easy for Caitlyn, it’s been very hard,” the source said. “She’s thrilled she has raised awareness about how transgender people have long been discriminated against but I think there’s a chance she’ll de-transition in the next couple years. I don’t think it would surprise anybody in her inner circle. It has been much harder than she anticipated. My heart goes out to her and I know her true friends will be there to support her on whatever path she chooses.”

However, a rep for Jenner quickly spoke up on the rumor and shut it down.

“Not worth commenting on such an idiotic report,” Jenner’s rep said. “Of course it’s not true.”

Well, there you have it. It looks like Caitlyn is here to stay.
