Cynthia Bailey and Peter Thomas’ marriage has been on a downward spiral for a year as the two have battled over everything from infidelity accusations to long-distance love. And fans of the famous “Real Housewives of Atlanta” couple have watched them struggle to keep their marriage together as they slowly drift farther and farther apart. And now the pair’s marriage has apparently hit an even new low because the couple is reportedly separated.
As fans of the show know, things between Bailey and Thomas began going south last year when viral video hit the web showing Thomas inappropriately touching another woman in his Sports One bar in Charlotte, North Carolina. Of course, Bailey was embarrassed and upset by the video, but the couple tried to work on their marriage.
Unfortunately, it seems as though their careers ambitions were also part of the problem because Thomas was spending more and more time in Charlotte or opening up new bars in new cities, while Bailey was focused on her modeling school and her new eyewear line.
Earlier this year, the couple confirmed that they barely spend time under the same roof anymore and after much fan speculation, Bailey recently confirmed that she and Thomas are indeed legally separated.
According to media reports, Bailey spoke about her crumbling marriage in a new interview and explained that they no longer live together.
“Peter and I are separated. He lives in Charlotte, and I live in Atlanta,” Bailey revealed.
Bailey explained that she and Thomas are focused on enjoying their time apart and figuring out for themselves how best to move forward now that they’re separated.
“I am definitely taking some time to myself to figure out how I want to move forward. I don’t want to rush into anything, so I think this time apart is good for us. And I think the space apart, I think he can appreciate it as well. I think it gives people time to think and process and just move forward in a way that really is healthy for everyone involved,” Bailey said.
Despite the growing divide between them, Bailey explains that she still loves Thomas and will always support him.
“Regardless of where I am with Peter, he is my husband. I will always love him, and I will always support him. And I believe he feels the same about me. Whether or not we decide to stay married or not, that’s something that we have to decide soon. But right now, I’m enjoying the time apart, taking time for myself,” Bailey said.
Well, at this point it doesn’t seem like the couple is focused on working things out anymore and if it comes out in the near future that they plan to divorce, we honestly wouldn’t be surprised.
