It has been a heartbreaking weekend.
“The Voice” contestant Christina Grimmie, 22, who finished in the top three after being coached by judge Adam Levine, was gunned down after a Friday night, June 10 concert in Florida at The Plaza Live in Orlando. She was meeting fans and signing autographs a half hour after the concert ended when she was shot by a deranged gunman who will get not any additional ink here.
“Hate will never win!” Exclaims Broadway’s “Hamilton” star and creator Lin-Manuel Miranda after winning the Tony for Best Original Score at Sunday’s awards show. “Senseless acts of tragedy remind us that nothing here is promised, not one day. We live through times when hate and fear seem stronger. We rise and fall and light from dying embers remembrance that hope and love last forever,”
He continues, “Love is love is love is love is love is love is love is love cannot be killed or swept aside.”
His words followed the mass shooting at Pulse, an LGBT nightclub in Orlando, Florida which left 50 people dead and at least 53 others injured.
Late this Monday afternoon, June 13, 48 of the 49 victims have been identified by authorities.
