On Sunday, July 3, at around noon, Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs wrote in Instagram: NOLA ARE YOU READY?! Don’t miss the #BadBoyFamily at #ESSENCEFEST TODAY!! We are going to shut it down for the first time on the Superdome mainstage!! Get tickets now at EssenceFestival.com!!
Back in May, the crew reunited on the Today show where they announced their summer tour. They performed a medley of classics, including”Coming Home and “I’ll Be Missing You,” which had fans cheering loudly and reminiscing on their 90s favorites. “New York City make some noise so the world can hear this vibration!” Combs, 46, raved while on stage wearing a denim outfit.
The Family reunion road trip and tour goes into full gear in August, includes Lil’ Kim, Ma$e, Mario Winans, 112, Total, Carl Thomas, The Lox and French Montana to embark on a 25-date U.S. tour. Lil’ Kim’s camp in a statement titled “Sad News” announced she won’t be able to perform at this year’s Essence Music Festival:
“It’s with much regret that we announce that multi-platinum selling recording artist, Lil’ Kim will not be performing with Puff Daddy and Her Family at this year’s Essence Music Festival due to unfilled business obligations. She’s saddened by this news but matters are not within her control. Lil’ Kim would like to thank Essence for the opportunity and her fans for their continued support of the Lil’ Kim brand and looks forward to being at next year’s Essence Music Festival in 2017.
“This summer, Lil Kim will be honored at the 2016, VH1 Hip Hop Honors awards show while also traveling the country performing on the Bad Boy Reunion Tour and will continue to release more hot music so stay tuned as it’s Lil’ Kim Season.”
Combs, aka Diddy, is planning to really rock Mercedes-Benz Superdome. He shared in a second post: iamdiddyWe’re bringing #ESSENCEFEST20 years of Bad Boy HITS today!! NOLA ARE YOU READY?! It’s going to be a party!! Add me on snapchat: PUFFDADDY!!#BADBOY #letsGO
