This year at the 2016 Essence Festival, I managed to fall in love with all the Ford vehicles. If I had to choose which one I would be most likely to purchase, it would be the Ford Fusion. The new bright and shiny LED headlights had me at hello. I had a chance to “Drive and Ride” any Ford I wanted and the vehicles that stood out the most were the Escape, Fusion and the Mustang. Below, find four reasons I fell in love with Ford at Essence.

1. The bright LED headlights

It’s something about a car in 2016 with shiny LED headlights that makes you feel like a queen walking up to that vehicle and sliding into the driver’s seat. Ford has laced it’s new vehicles with LED front headlights and rear lights and it looks amazing.

2. Six cameras in the back

Rear cameras  help drivers see when backing up. This is one of the first times I saw a car lined with six cameras in the back, providing full vision from all angles to ensure you aren’t backing into anything or anyone. This is an important feature. In my cars of the past, I was more likely to run over curbs because I simply couldn’t see the curb in my rearview mirror. This will definitely eliminate that problem.

3. Ford believes in family friendly vehicles and relationships #MyFordFamily

Knowing that Ford deemed their “Be Unstoppable” campaign so important they decided to enlist partnerships with people like motivational speaker/author Tony Gaskins, Jr.  was very impressive. After attending the wonderful dinner hosted by Ford, listening to their marketing rep, and hearing Gaskins speak about the wonderful things Ford as brand did for the African American market in terms of providing jobs in a time when it wasn’t popular to do so, I began to admire the values the Ford company places on family. #MyFordFamily was an excellent choice as the official hashtag for the Fourth of July weekend. Both Ford cars and SUVs have features the automobile line built to provide comfort and safety for the American family.

4. The 2016 Mustang GT-H

Since the age of sixteen, I remember we always considered the Ford Mustang as the cool kids car. My best friend carted us to lunch in her old school classic 1969 Mustang. Well now, it’s 2016 and I’m simply in love with this beauty.
