1. Wear protective styles: Try lace frontals, leave out sew-ins, and wigs for the summer.
2. Avoid any type of glue: Summer heat will easily melt the glue and possible breakage can happen.
3. Keep hair moisturized : Coconut oil will counteract the dryness of salt from swimming in the ocean or chlorine from the pool, so keep coconut oil or any other natural oil under weaves or braids.
4. Add some sunscreen: Add some protection by running your hands lightly through your hair after applying sunscreen to your body. This protects your hair from UV Rays.
5. Avoid excessive heat: When using heat, apply heat protectant with protein.
6. Dry hair correctl: After shampooing and conditioning hair, properly dry your braids using a hair dryer to avoid unbalance and dehydrated hair strands.
7. Use sulfate-free shampoos: Sulfate is a chemical that can cause color in hair to fade. Use sulfate free shampoos to extend your hair color.
8. Invest in curly/wavy weave — this will make it easy for leave out to blend on humid days.
9. Avoid heat damage: Get styles were little to no hair will be left out.
10. Use a wide-tooth comb instead of a brush: Avoid pulling anything through your hair when it’s wet.
