Women continue to be the fastest growing demographic of entrepreneurs. This is partly due to our innate ability to eliminate barriers by creating our own opportunities. Founder and host of the Motor City Woman radio show, Robin Kinnie, is an internet radio pioneer. Her company, Kinnie Media Group LLC, recently launched the Motor City Woman Radio Network, which is an entire radio station dedicated to women.

“The vision of Motor City Woman Radio Network is to become a daily retreat for women where we can reconnect, recharge and rejoice in our triumphs,” says Kinnie. “As a wife, mom and career woman, I was always searching for tools, resources and information that [could] help me in all aspects of my life. As an avid talk radio fan, I couldn’t locate a show that spoke to my interests and goals. I didn’t want one show or one segment dedicated to women. I wanted an entire station. I couldn’t find one, so, I created it,” she explains.

It takes conscious and persistent effort for women to rise above adversity, double standards and stereotypes. KInnie launched the company for one reason: to give women a voice to discuss issues that women care about from different perspectives. Motor City Woman offers both live broadcasting and podcast streaming from motorcitywoman.com. Currently, there are five shows that air throughout the week. Topics include, health and wellness, career development, entrepreneurship, personal fulfillment, work/life balance and more. The show hosts are a dynamic group of women from diverse backgrounds with a plethora of talents.

Mondays start off with “Professionally Fit” at 11 a.m. with Lisa A. Smith of FitCamp 360.  Lisa’s passion for fitness and holistic health is invigorating. She provides prudent tips on how to live a healthy lifestyle whether you’re a corporate boss or blue-collar employee. Her down-to-earth demeanor inspires your desire to change your physical, mental and emotional health, not just for the better, but for the best.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, from noon to 1 p.m. listeners are treated to positivity and celebrity interviews with Tiffany Patton’s “On the Go With Tiffany Patton.” Patton aims to be “your link to love, life and liberty.” Patton has been in the radio game for some time now and has built a significant following. Recognizing that God uses her to interact with her audience and her guests, she exudes humility and grace.

Mid-week, Mo’nae Rawls inspires, motivates and educates during rush hour, 4-5 p.m. Rawls’ show, “Destined 4 Greatness” will feature a myriad of topics along with guests and call-ins. Rawls is active within the Detroit community, affecting the lives of people from all age ranges. Her show also airs on Fridays 4-5 p.m.

Every other Thursday at 7 p.m. is  the “Why? That’s Why Radio Show” with Christa Price. She will provide the booster shot that every entrepreneur needs when their resolve to “stay in the fight” weakens. This is the show for current and aspiring entrepreneurs.

Wrapping up the week on Friday will be the “Truth & Life Today” show. Hosts, Tracy Austin, Kimberly Sanders and Marktá (Mar-TAY) Lewis will share their testimonies about overcoming struggles and celebrating triumphs. Spiritually based, each of the women shares a candid and unique perspective.

Listeners have a chance to meet the ladies of Motor City Woman Radio network at their open house on Aug.13. There will be a tour of the state-of-the art studios, which is housed inside The Recording Compound in Southfield, Michigan. Artists and musicians who record in the adjacent studios will have the opportunity to be guests on the radio shows and promote their music.

Kinnie’s mantra, “Live in the light” is appropriate as this visionary is providing a way for others to shine bright as diamonds. Be sure to tune in to the Motor City Woman Radio Network for entertainment that is enlightening and empowering.
