When did you know that being a musician was your calling?
I’ve always had a love for music, ever since I was a little girl. I grew up around music so I could never picture myself not doing something that had to do with it.

Describe three other occupations you’ve held.
Besides singing, I am an actress, model and writer as well.

What inspires you to perform?
I love to make people smile as well as create an environment where we can just get together and enjoy music.

What instruments, if any, do you play?
I play a little piano and some guitar.

How would you describe your brand of music?
My brand of music is real. I write all my music and I prefer to make music about real situations, whether it’s something I am currently going through or something that I have already been through. I want to create music that I know my fans will be able to relate to.

When you are on stage what do you want to convey about your style?
If I had to pick a few words to describe my style, I would say that my style is fun, sassy and chic and I would want to convey that to my audience because that is the real me.

Name three musicians who have influenced your approach to being a musician?
Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson

Describe your creative process from concept to complete song?
I listen to different beats probably over a span of three days. Then I come up with a concept and start with the chorus or the verse, and then it flows from there.

How do you select your creative music partners to fashion your musical voice.
I listen to the beats to see if I can actually feel something and it has to be something catchy that can either make you dance or make you think.

What advice would you give anyone preparing to enter the music business about publishing and management?
Regardless of the situation, always do your research before making any decisions. Make sure you see what publishing company works best for you, it’s a personal preference, and always copyright your lyrics/music. Make sure all your papers are right ahead of time. As for management, I would suggest going with someone you know has your best interest at heart and someone that you can truly trust.

What effect would you like your music to have on society?
I would like people to listen first before jumping to conclusions. Life is too short to go and act before sitting, thinking and/or just walking away. Enjoy life, know your worth, and find peace within yourself.

If you could go outside the USA to write and produce music what country would you choose and why?
South Korea. I believe they have an awesome connection in the music industry and love our music as well. I would love to write for any of their artists.

What do you like the most about being musician?
Music is something that I truly love and I enjoy being able to do what makes me happy, but beyond that, I love being able to create or share something that will live far beyond me.

What producers are you looking forward to working with soon?
I would love to work with Timbaland and Pharrell.

If you could make a duet with someone who would it be and why?
If I had to choose only one person, I would choose Beyoncé. I would love to work with Beyoncé because she is an amazing artist as well as a performer.
