Beloved ballerina Misty Copeland said “I do!” to her longtime boyfriend, Olu Evans. The pair tied the knot on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at the Montage Hotel in Laguna Beach. When she interviewed with Essence magazine for her September 2015 cover issue she said, “I can’t believe my life right now.”
According to E! News:
It was a very romantic, “small and intimate wedding” with only 100 guests. We’re also told Copeland looked like an “ethereal goddess” in her gown designed by Inbal Dror, which she accessorized with shoes designed by Christian Louboutin.
The decorations included white and pink roses as well as pink hydrangeas.
Olu Evans is actor Taye Diggs’ cousin.
Evans is a corporate attorney who practices on the Upper West Side in Manhattan.
Evans gifted the first African American principal dancer in the American Ballet Theatre an enormous cushion-cut sparkler set in a halo and a pave band.
Evans is also mixed race like his new bride. He has a Black father and white (Jewish) mother.
