“The Sisterhood of Hip Hop’s” Siya previews her highly anticipated return to the hit Oxygen television show with a new single, “New York, New York.” Executive produced by Hustle Gang CEO T.I., the rapstress is snatching crowns and commanding attention.

“The “New York” record was sent to me by one of my producers, Lombardi Young and almost instantly I knew what I needed to do. I miss Hip-Hop. Real Hip-Hop. The music I was raised on. Big L, Nas, DMX, Jay-Z, Biggie, OutKast, etc. I don’t get that feeling like I used to when I listen to music now. I can barely understand half of it and the rest is just watered down lyrics over bass heavy beats. I wanted “New York” to make people feel like it was summer of “98” in front of the corner bodega in the projects and music blasting out of someone’s Acura while a game of Ceelo was taking place. Thats what Hip-Hop was to me,” Siya said in a press release.

“I’m from Roosevelt pj’s, Bed-stuy Brooklyn. The concrete jungle. I’m from NEW YORK! My music should reflect that. As far as being a reality tv star on “Sisterhood of hip hop” it’s exactly what you see. An inside look into my personal space. It doesn’t change me or my music. It’s so the fans can feel closer to us as artist and to show that femcees can actually empower each other instead of competing and ripping one another down. My motto is “Let’s get this money and make more room in the game for females,” she continued.

When asked about the imspiration behind the track, Siya tells rolling out exclusively, “I just felt like it was time to make a feel good hip-hop record for New York. That represents New York. That screams New York. The New York I remember.”

Up next, the femcee tells us, “Next is the full album, touring and [creating] visuals … I also want to tap into executive producing (tv shows) and of course acting. I’m also focusing on writing for other artists.”

In the meantime, Siya disclosed she’d “love to work with Missy Elliot, Jay Z, Mike Will Made-It, Fabolous and Timberland,” among others.

Furthermore, the Bed Stuy, Brooklyn native is working long and hard as an advocate for the LGBT community and campaigning for human rights. and she recently snagged a coveted role in an upcoming movie opposite Larenz Tate, Meagan Good, and Lance Gross, courtesy of Flavor Unit Entertainment founded by Queen Latifah and Shakim Compere.
