Rapper DMX has become a dad for the 15th time after his partner, Desiree Lindstrom, gave birth to a son.
The 45-year-old rapper, whose real name is Earl Simmons, and Lindstrom welcomed son Exodus Simmons in New York on Friday, Aug. 19, the tot weighed 6 pounds, 10 ounces.
DMX told TMZ he’s overjoyed and called the baby — which is Lindstrom’s first — a “blessing.”
His long-term girlfriend went into labor while the rapper was in Arizona, so he missed the delivery but he rushed back to New York to be with his baby boy later that day.
DMX previously revealed that he already has children with nine different women, including ex-wife Tashera Simmons, with whom he shares four kids. They married in 1999 and split in 2010 but remain friends, despite having multiple extramarital affairs during his marriage, some of whom he ended up fathering children with.
When asked if his kids have all met one another, he said: “Some of them have met others. I ain’t a total piece of s—. I ain’t have kids in the same county. Yeah, I slipped up. I got a few in New York; I got a few in Cali.”
He also has two children with ex-girlfriend Yadira Borrego and DNA testing confirmed he is the father of at least two other children, the first was born to Monique Wayne, in 2004, the second to a different woman in 2008.
DMX fought Wayne for many years over her claim that he was the father of her son. She sued him repeatedly for defamation of character and for child support. But it was DNA testing in 2007 that proved him to be the father and he was ordered to pay her $1.5 million. On July 30, 2013 he filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy — citing his child support obligations as his priority claim but this was challenged by the Department of Justice’s bankruptcy watchdog trustee program and afterward it was dismissed by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Manhattan on Nov. 11, 2013.
The rapper was previously sentenced to six months in jail for failing to pay child support in July 2015, but he was released last September.
