A family is reeling over the shooting of a father of four over a supposed lack of courtesy at a Las Vegas McDonald’s. Mohammad Robinson, 31, has been described by family and friends as a hardworking and loving father. This past Sunday a simple visit to McDonald’s turned tragic when Robinson failed to hold the door for a woman. According to Robinson’s mother Katra Nestor, “He was coming into McDonald’s and some female was going out. The door closed before she could get out and what happened is she said a few choice words to him.”
Those choice words angered the unidentified woman’s male companion, who produced a gun and shot Robinson dead. Now, the grieving family is also in a financial and medical crisis. Robinson had been caring for his 3-month-old daughter, who is currently fighting for life due to a blood infection. The family is worried that they will not have the money to bury Robinson and pay for the mounting medical bills. His girlfriend, who has only identified herself as Shea, has created a GoFundMe page to raise donations to help the family. According to the page:
“Mohammad was a loving caring hardworking father of 4 Nd step dad to 2 who did anything and everything he could to support his family. On the early morning of Sunday august 28th of the corner of Las Vegas blvd and Pecos where he was shot multiple times his life sadly came to an end. As I sit here trying to absorb this horrific news and put the broken pieces back together again for myself and family I worry how the future will play out from losing him and dealing with our youngest child who is currently hospitalized and suffering from a blood infection called sepsis at a young age of 3 months. I cry out for help and ask if everyone can come together in such a time of need and help with emotional and financial support with burial services I thank you all from the bottom of my heart Shea.”
So far, the family has set a fundraising goal of $12K and has so far raised $6,705. The average cost of a funeral is somewhere in the range of $10-12K and the family is thankful for all money donated. Robinson’s killer is still on the loose and police have not released information on any suspect.
