The Soul Food Cypher recently threw a block party to celebrate the opening of the school year and hip-hop culture. Held at the intersection of Edgewood Ave. and Boulevard Dr. in Atlanta, the event featured live music, graffiti art, face painting, basketball, and hip-hop trivia.

The block party raised money for a new after-school program called WordShop. The program seeks to inspire young students by helping to educate and provide employment opportunities.
