The third anniversary of Le Diner en Blanc was a delightful treat. Joining the party this year is the Lincoln Motor Company. It was this writer’s first time at the much-talked-about féte that attracts thousands who have less than a month to find the most elegant white attire for the “dinner in white” affair. This year’s event took place at The Shops Buckhead Atlanta from 6 to 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2016. In attendance were 2,000 Atlanta tastemakers, scenesters and professionals.

As a guest of Lincoln’s Le Diner en Blanc Experience, we enjoyed fare prepared by executive chef Shawn Osbey. Our delectable menu included deviled eggs, asparagus, crispy cheese grits, jumbo lump crab cakes, green beans, pork ribs, mushroom and Boursin stuffed chicken breast, apple crisp, Hummingbird cake. Mind you, this meal was preceded by a cocktail reception at Dolce Italian where we sipped red wine, champagne and enjoyed and diverse selection of endless appetizers: pizza, bruschetta, Caprese salad, chicken and mushroom, mini crab cakes, meatballs and more.

We also were the first to experience the white carpeted engagement with the 2017 Lincoln Continental where we took selfies, usies and a game of I-wish-I-had-the-Keys to this Le Lincoln Continental en Blanc.

Le Diner en Blanc was founded in 1988 and in the past five years has grown to 70 cities around the world – Singapore, Australia, South America, and Europe. It was in France for over 20 years before expanding to Montreal and New York. François Pasquier, who founded it in France, still runs it there 28 years later, and his son Aymeric Pasquier and partner Sandy Safi, run Diner en Blanc International.

At the Atlanta, event guests cover their own tables with white cloths; laid out the crystal for Champagne, wine and water; the plates for hors d’oeuvres, main course and dessert and wait for the next instructions.
