A man once convicted of killing his pregnant wife and serving 16 years for his crime has struck again. Police in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, have arrested Gregory V. Green, 49, for allegedly killing his two daughters – Kaleigh Green, 4, and Koi Green, 5 and two stepchildren, Kara Allen, 17, and Chadney Allen, 19, in their Dearborn Heights home.
Green called police early Wednesday to tell them that he had killed his family and waited for police on his porch. The two teens were found shot to death in the basement of the home. The other young children were found in a car, dead from carbon monoxide poisoning. It is believed Green modified the tailpipe to introduce the gas. The children’s mother, Faith Green, 39, was found shot and stabbed in the home. She was still alive and transported to a hospital where she is listed in fair condition. Dearborn Heights police Lt. Michael Krause stated to media, “It’s tough to respond to something like this. We aren’t robots; we’re human beings. It’s going to bother some officers for some time.”
Green fatally stabbed his pregnant wife, Tonya Green, in 1991. Michigan Department of Corrections spokesman Chris Gautz stated to media that Green was denied parole four times before being released in 2008. She went on to state that his earlier requests for parole were denied because he “had not shown remorse for his crime, had not gained adequate insight and had a lack of empathy. After being denied four times, he completed several cognitive-based programs.”
Faith Green had filed for divorce from Green twice, the first time in 2013, and again in August 2016, and she sought an order of protection from the court because of behavior.
