Akira Eiland-Sharp is the owner and managing director of Safe Haven Learning Academy, which provides child care services and an environment to enhance a child’s intellectual and social intelligence. A certified boss, Eiland-Sharp not only runs a successful childcare business, she also owns and operates Nirvana Wellness Spa, which specializes in overall health and wellness from colon cleansing and detoxification to ultrasonic liposuction. She also owns the eatery The Chicken Hut LLC, which serves the local community with fresh meats and seafood dishes.
As an entrepreneur, Eiland-Sharp is committed to the success of each her businesses. She encourages women to work hard to “continue to grow your empire and to make wise and well thought out financial decisions” as they venture down their path of success. She believes that anything is attainable with hard work and dedication.
Eiland-Sharp’s motivation to remain successful is her family. She has a number of people who depend on her and she says that failure is not an option. From family to employees, Eiland-Sharp is persistent in expanding and maximizing the potential of her businesses. “The more you know, the more you grow. Seek new ways to reinvent yourself in your industry and expand your horizon with other ventures,” she said.
Her advice for future entrepreneurs: “Surround yourself with people who are positive and are doing things in your industry. Persistence pays, don’t settle for being amongst the crowd, be the best in the crowd.”
Eiland-Sharp currently resides in Atlanta with her husband and three children.
