Director, Community Partnership – Global Community Affairs

The Coca-Cola Company

A native of Atlanta, Wanda Yancey Rodwell is an accomplished communications and community affairs leader. Today, she serves as director of global community affairs for The Coca-Cola Company. She began her career as a journalist, writing award-winning news reports for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. She later transitioned into corporate communications and community affairs through Cox Enterprises, the Grady Health System and Delta Air Lines.

In her current position, Rodwell is responsible for shaping the leading philanthropic giving and community outreach in Coca-Cola’s hometown market, Atlanta. “Our giving is based on three key priorities: water stewardship, women’s empowerment and the well-being of people and the communities,” she said.

This falls directly in line with Rodwell’s commitment to the community outside of The Coca-Cola Company. She serves on the board of directors for the Georgia United Methodist Church Foundation, Foundation for Wesley Woods and the Atlanta Symphony’s Education Committee, and Operation HOPE Atlanta.

Rodwell holds a wealth of knowledge for women to secure their path in any successful career. She encourages women to “work smart: take advantage of all opportunities; learn new skills, take lateral moves, volunteer to take on additional responsibilities. At the end of the day, you want to be the most qualified and well-versed person to go to the next level.”

She offers these words of wisdom, “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” Rodwell adds that there are four important factors for becoming a successful woman in any business, “You must have faith, confidence, determination, and instinct.”

Rodwell is a graduate of Spelman College and a member of the Azalea City Chapter of The Links Incorporated.
