After a long and drawn out divorce battle, Phaedra Parks and Apollo Nida were finally set free of each other when their divorce was finalized earlier this year. Although Parks seems to just want to move on from her long-dead marriage, Nida still seems to want to fight over it because reports have revealed that he now wants the divorce thrown out in court.
As previously reported, Parks filed for divorce from Nida in 2014 when he was sentenced to eight years in prison for his part in a four-year financial fraud scheme involving bank, mail, wire fraud, and ID theft of more than 50 people.
Nearly a month ago, Parks revealed the big news that her divorce from Nida had been finalized and that they were legally free of each other. However, just a few weeks later, Nida decided to file divorce papers of his own and asked for joint custody of their two sons, Ayden, 6, and Dylan, 3, as well as an equitable split of their assets.
Now, Nida is fighting Parks’ original divorce filing over, of all things, a typo in her documents. Reportedly, Nida is harping on the claim that his name is spelled “Nita” in Parks’ divorce documents.
Nida reportedly is also fighting the divorce because he claims that Parks took advantage of the fact that he’s incarcerated, which kept him from taking as much legal action in the divorce battle as he needed to. Nida claims that a final hearing for their divorce was held in July, but he was never informed of it.
Nida has now filed a motion to vacate his divorce and have it thrown out in court. If a judge grants Nida’s motion, he and Parks would reportedly have to start their divorce process all over again and go through yet another battle in court.
Outside of fighting for custody of his kids, we’re not sure why Nida wants to keep dragging on with this fight against Parks. But what do you think of his decision to challenge the divorce? Let us know in the comments.
