Police made a surprising arrest in the case of a former teacher and her 4-year-old son found dead. As reported previously, the bodies of Felicia Barahona, age 36, and her son Miguel, age 4, were discovered by police this week inside her apartment.  Barahona was found with an electrical cord wrapped around her neck. Her son Miguel was discovered dead in the bathtub. According to the building superintendent he had last seen Barahona on Wednesday of last week. Barahona made headlines in 2012 after it was discovered she was having sex with an 18-year-old male student and later gave birth to his son Miguel.

Police were initially considering the deaths a possible murder suicide, but they have now announced that Barahona’s former lover and father of their son has been arrested for the double murder. Isaac Infante, 23, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder after he confessed to killing the mother and child. A medical examiner determined Barahona died from strangulation and her son died of asphyxia from neck compression.

According to sources close to the investigation Infante was angry because Barahona was dressing his son in girl’s clothing and had posted some of these pictures online. The resident of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania was also upset that he was paying Barahona child support of $80-100 a week. His continuing fractured relationship was also reportedly interfering with a new relationship he was engaged in with another woman. According to relatives, Infante and Barahona shared custody of their son. During his confession Infante reportedly mentioned the devil, and stated that his crimes were an evil deed. The family is devastated over the deaths during the holiday season. Relatives stated they were expecting to see Miguel on New Year’s Day and had gifts to give the young toddler.
