The start of a new year ushers in a sense of “newness” in everything we do and for Detroit-based The She Is Project, that means hosting their annual business social event,  “New Year, Do You 2017.” The return of this highly anticipated event is back for its fourth year, and this year it’s promising to be better than ever. Each year, at the start of the year, The She Is Project gathers metro Detroit’s most innovative, female business owners to “toast” to the new year and its future successes. With the theme of Celebrating Women of Style, this year’s focus is on celebrating and showcasing Detroit’s newly opened North End Collective, a brand-new retail hub powered entirely by women that offers unique fashions, accessories and art. Their resident entrepreneurs, UnitedFront, Traveling Pants Company, Live Coal Gallery and Purple Love should all be present to take part in the celebration. The celebration will take place in the blossoming New Center Area/North End area of the city on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017, at 6 p.m., located at 6513 Woodward Ave.

At this year’s event, one can expect to have a lot of fun, network and develop meaningful relationships with some of Detroit’s most progressive professionals, participate in a “Shout Out Your Business” session and collectively participate in a “champagne toast” to the new year’s success. During the celebration, the new business owners will be prepared to share their journey and secrets to success. Event guests will also hear about The She Is Project’s 2017 programming and initiatives such as their annual signature event LAUNCHED! A Women’s Entrepreneur and Branding Summit, which is a next level, sisterly, educational summit that is one day of mad fun, innovative and interactive experiences for entrepreneurial women, along with so much more.

The She Is Project is an organization that celebrates and educates multicultural female entrepreneurs via fun and unique live experiences. “The She Is Project was created [out] of my fascination with how young women of color were creating personal brands and businesses digitally, based on their likes and loves. And I wanted to develop a way to celebrate them, but also share their tricks of the trade with others who wanted to emulate their successes,” says founder Carlotta Tutt Holloway.

Holloway’s organization provides various outlets for women business owners to connect and gain meaningful business relationships and partnerships, and offer educational opportunities in the coolest most innovate and ways possible. Reiterating the organization’s commitment to innovation, Holloway goes on to say, “We believe every experience that we present should be entertaining and fun. No boring workshops here — we want you to come out, have a blast and leave with a wealth of knowledge, relationships, motivation and innovative ideas to move your business to the next level.”

This year’s toast to Celebrating Women of Style is a must-attend event that you don’t want to miss. Registration for the event is free and you can register at  www.NYDY17.eventbrite.com. More than 100 women are expected to be in attendance, so be sure to reserve your spot today.
