Arnold Schwarzenegger on Donald Trump: Let’s ‘smash his face into the table’

It’s safe to say that former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger isn’t exactly Donald Trump’s No. 1 fan.

Trump has been hard at work, doing what he does best: disappointing us. This week, the two have been back and forth via social media over what appears to have stemmed from Schwarzenegger’s declaration that he would not vote for Trump, along with his deep, dark confession to Men’s Journal, that he’d like to introduce Trump’s face to a table.

According to Schwarzenegger, 69, the feud began after he volunteered to host “Celebrity Apprentice.” Things came to a head following Trump’s announcement he’d be running for president, during which the former politician urged Republicans to “choose your country over your party” and not vote for Trump.

“I said, ‘Let’s sit on it for an hour,’” Schwarzenegger said. “I called my assistant and said, ‘I think what we really should do is request a meeting and go back to New York. And then we just smash his face into the table. And then I think we can’t do that either. I think I have to be above all of that and put him on the spot.’ ”

Not to our surprise, the then-president-elect tapped into his inner reality star and posted tweets mocking Schwarzenegger’s poor “Celebrity Apprentice” ratings.

Keeping it classy, Schwarzenegger responded with a quote from Abraham Lincoln along with wishing Trump best of luck with his presidency.

But it didn’t stop there. The two have continued to take jabs at one another throughout the week, with Trump leading the way, with more harsh words about the reality show’s ratings during the National Prayer Breakfast — because there’s no better time to diss your fellow American than at an annual event run by a Christian organization.

“When I ran for president I knew I had to leave the show, that’s when I knew for sure I was doing it,” Trump says. “And they hired a big, big movie star Arnold Schwarzenegger to take my place, and we know how that turned out. Ratings went right down the tubes, it’s been a total disaster, and Mark will never, ever bet against Trump again. And I want to just pray for Arnold if we can, for those ratings. But we’ve had an amazing life together the last 14, 15 years. An outstanding man. Thank you for introducing me,” Trump said to about 3,500 guests from around the world.

Meanwhile, Schwarzenegger responded by propositioning Trump to trade places. “Hey Donald, I have a great idea. Why don’t we switch jobs? You take over TV because you’re such an expert in ratings. I take over your job and then people can finally sleep comfortably again.”
