“I said no pictures.” When North West said these words to mom Kim Kardashian in a video, the world laughed. It was no laughing matter when New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis snatched and threw a phone belonging to one of two men who tried filming him around 2:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 13, 2017.
Revis, 31, was arraigned on charges of robbery, terroristic threats, conspiracy and aggravated assault – all felonies – after turning himself in to Philadelphia police on Friday, Feb. 17. 2017. He has been released on a non-monetary bond, but he has to surrender his passport and have no interaction with victims, Dallas Cousins and Zacheriah Jarvis, both age 22.
“I just knocked these motherf*****s out,” Revis allegedly says in a video that shows Cousins and Jarvis unconscious; they were reportedly out for 10 minutes. Revis was in Philadelphia, his hometown, visiting relatives when he was confronted at the corner of East Carson Street and 23rd Street on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017. According to the report, when one of the victims confirmed Revis was in fact the multi-time All-Pro and Pro Bowl pick, the man began to follow and record him even after he asked them to stop. The voice in the video also says to a third person, “Shut up before I knock your a** out next.”
Revis’ initial attorney Blaine Jones says the victims are at fault: “He tried to retreat. He did everything in his power to try to get this situation to die down, to de-escalate this situation that the other group started. Darrelle was by himself when he was physically assaulted by one of the men, and unfortunately, at what point in time do you say enough is enough?”
Due to Jones’ workload, Revis’ case will be headed by Robert DelGreco. His next court appearance is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 23 at Philadelphia Municipal Court.
