There’s a storm brewing on the set of “Empire.” Or is there?

On Wednesday, March 22, multiple production sources told TMZ that Long’s claws were out. In other words, the actress was “extremely rude to the people in hair, makeup and wardrobe,” on the set of the smash hit hip-hop drama, the entertainment news outlet reports.

Long’s people have since denied the accusation: “This story is complete nonsense,” the star’s rep said in a statement. According to sources, Long’s denial was enough to create a rift between her and the series’ female protagonist, Taraji P. Henson, aka Cookie. So much so, that the actresses ceased all communication on set. Sources added that it was next to impossible to film scenes together — leaving producers no choice but to film them separately.

Now, the 46-year-old’s camp has come forward, claiming the gossip could be nothing further from the truth. “Throughout her long, established career, Nia has been nothing but a consummate professional treating all members of productions with respect,” Long’s rep stated. “This is nothing but another complete fabrication about a series that has been plagued by constant rumors of drama and misconduct.”

During season three, Long steps into the recurring role of Lucious Lyon’s infamous ex and Las Vegas club owner Giuliana aka Giusi. Though season three is currently nearing its end — with Lucious attempting to rekindle a romance with Cookie — there’s been no word whether Long will be returning for season four.

In the meantime, the Fox series recently gave fans a sneak peek at new cast members Eva Longoria and Demi Moore. Per Deadline, Longoria will be guest starring as Charlotte Frost, the “formidable director of Nevada’s all-powerful state gaming commission,” who has the power to make or break Lucious’ dreams of expanding Empire’s reach to Sin City. Moore on the other hand, plays a “take-charge nurse with a mysterious past who will become ever more treacherously entangled with the Lyon family,” come season four. They sure love a chic, sexy, cold-blooded female!
