‘MTV Movie and TV Awards’ gets a major revamp.

On Thursday, April 6, the network announced the front-runners for their first-ever awards show celebrating the best on both the big and small screens in gender blind categories like Movie of the Year, Best Villain, Best Fight Against the System, Best Actor in a Movie, Next Generation and Best Duo. Not to our surprise, Beauty and the Beast and the Netflix original series “Stranger Things” received four nominations each. While FX’s smash hit series “Atlanta”, “Game of Thrones”, “This Is Us” and Hidden Figures, Logan, and Moonlight received three nominations each.

Fans can also expect to see a variety of new categories such as Show of the Year, Best Host, Best Reality Competition, Tearjerker, Next Generation, Best American Story and Best Fight Against the System. It all goes down at L.A.’s Shrine Auditorium on Sunday, May 7, at 8 p.m. with Adam Devine serving as host.
