Nick Cannon addressed speculation recently about whether he and Mariah Carey are still engaged in an intimate relationship.
During an appearance on “The Wendy Williams Show” this week, the talk-show host grilled the former “America’s Got Talent” host about his extremely amicable relationship with his 47-year-old ex-wife and the mother of their adorable 5-year-old twins, Monroe and Morocco — by asking him point-blank if are they “still sleeping together.”
“There would be nothing wrong with that, but that’s not the case,” Cannon responded, adding that he has “nothing but unconditional love” for Carey. “I mean, she’s gorgeous but, you know, I’m respectful,” he continued. “I put the kids to bed and I go home.”
In true Williams style, she went on to claim that Cannon is responsible for Carey’s recent split from billionaire James Packer and, most recently, backup dancer Bryan Tanaka, claiming that Cannon is “always around.”
“I wanted her to be with a billionaire!” Cannon clapped back. “More yachts for everybody!”
Williams even hit Cannon with a little prediction, claiming that they’d rekindle their love in about five years. To which the 36-year-old star replied, “You’re speaking this into existence! I spoke the marriage into existence.”
All jokes aside, Cannon — who recently welcomed a child with his ex-girlfriend, Brittany Bell — was adamant that he has a “love frequency” with Carey. “I feel like when two people are in a relationship it should be about growth.” he shared. “It should be a situation where everyone’s becoming a better human being in the relationship. So when you get to a point where there’s no longer any growth and you’re not bettering each other, I felt like it was probably best, especially for our children, since they’re the number one priority, if I could be the best human being and the best father from outside of that house.”
What are your thoughts regarding Williams’ claims that Carey can’t move on simply because Cannon is still in the picture — all the time?
