Greg Jones II is the founder of MEA Summer Showcase, which helps aspiring professional basketball players get noticed by international club scouts. He’s developed the format for players to have success playing basketball internationally.

What inspired you to become an entrepreneur?
I wanted to create a unique platform to bring more awareness and exposure to youth basketball and create a positive environment to develop youth in grassroots basketball.

Tell us about your education and training.
Bishop Noll Institute in Hammond, Indiana 2005; Purdue University Calumet B.A. Psychology 2010. I’ve been involved with basketball skill training/sports marketing since 2012.


What is the focus of your business?
The focus of my business is to improve the development and exposure in grassroots basketball through skill training, events, camps and coaching clinics.

What does a normal day look like for you?
A normal day for me would consist of morning conference calls/emails. Afternoon: player [development] with Bishop Noll Institute girls basketball. Early evening: individual training with local athletes. Late evening, I’m usually on Viber or Whats App checking in on projects I’m a part of internationally.

What do you find most rewarding working in the sports industry?
The most rewarding aspect of working in sports industry is being able to help someone reach their full potential.

Tell us about your latest project.
My last project was The Sorority Camp. The Sorority is a girls basketball camp featuring top players in Midwest region of the United States. It was a great experience for the girls and everyone in involved.

What have you found to be the most difficult components of being an entrepreneur?
Having patience and staying the course.

Where do you see yourself in the next five years?
In the next five years, I see myself expanding and contributing more domestically and internationally within the game of basketball.
