6. Twista

Originally known as Tung Twista, Twista initially put his stamp on the culture by being the world’s fastest rapper, according to the Guinness World Records. He did this in 1992. Originally, Twista’s style was kid friendly, à la The Fresh Prince. That style helped to launch his first release, Runnin’ Off at da Mouth. After that release, Twista laid low for a bit until he resurfaced on Do or Die’s hit single “Po Pimp” his lyrical dexterity is mind-blowing. What makes it even more incredible is that you can understand every word he is saying. In 1996 Twista released Adrenaline Rush and cemented his place as an elite lyricist. Since this release, Twista has stolen the spotlight from the likes of Missy Elliot, Nas and Jay-Z. His style has been jacked many times but no one can do it better than him.
