Rep. Frederica Wilson has received death threats after standing up to Donald Trump and Gen. John Kelly. According to Chicago Tribune, a racist Trump supporter threatened to lynch Rep. Wilson following her disputes with Donald Trump and Gen. John Kelly.

Trump supporter Tom Keevers, 54, allegedly attacked Rep. Wilson on social media. A meme initially posted on Keevers’ page featured a picture of Rep. Wilson and the words, “Need ten good men to help carry out a lynching. Must have own horse and saddle. Rope will be provided.”

Keevers’ followers also reported that he posted about Rep. Wilson, “This congresswomen (sic) is a disgusting pig. Someone should take their boot to her face.” And he also had a meme that read, “I really don’t mind being called a bigot, racist, close minded (sic), redneck, backwoods… heard them all by now and use (sic) to it… still better than being called a liberal.”

After the posts went viral, Keevers claimed that he did not threaten Rep. Wilson and simply got into an argument “that got out of control.”

However, the FBI should take this threat seriously. Keevers and other racist Trump supporters have aimed hate at Rep. Wilson since she revealed the truth about Trump and endured being lied on by Gen. Kelly. Trump has sparked White supremacists to be more aggressive against women and minorities since the election.

Threatening a member of Congress is a federal offense and can lead to five years in prison. U.S. Capital Police have yet to reveal if Keevers will be charged.
