Tyrese did not receive $5M from Will and Jada Pinkett Smith. One week after Tyrese claimed that he received money from the powerful Hollywood couple, they have denied the claim.
Last week, Tyrese appeared to be on the verge of a breakdown. While facing allegations that he abused his child, he went to social media to share his ordeal. Terese cried and spoke about not being able to see his daughter and paying $13K per month in child support. Following the post, Tyrese was mocked on social media for his behavior and others spoke about his mental health. The case against Tyrese was eventually dropped.
At some point during the week, Jada Pinkett Smith allegedly called Tyrese. He posted a photo on Instagram of getting a call from Jada Pinkett Smith. The caller was listed as, “Actress Jada Pinkett Smith.”
Tyrese would later write a post that claimed that Will and Jada Pinkett Smith would give him $5M to help while he was going through his ordeal. He also wrote that Will and Jada told him to stay off of social media.
Several days after the post, a rep for Will Smith told TMZ that they did not donate the money.
Tyrese likely destroyed any possibility of receiving money from Will and Jada by announcing the donation on social media. If they initially agreed to give him the money, Tyrese basically talked himself out of $5M.
Tyrese is currently selling T-shirts with “Shayla Rocks” that can be purchased on his website. The embattled singer said that he will be going to Dubai for a while to take a break.
