On just Eve’s second day on the gig as the new co-host on CBS’ “The Talk,” she’s already kicking up a lot of dust – and the dust blew in the face of Nicki Minaj and her faithful followers. And the Barbie brigade fired back their own shots at the rapper-actor-turned-talk show host.

Nicki Minaj, 36, posed for a very provocative — some would say obscene — Paper magazine cover which was supposed to break the internet but fell far short. And Eve, 39, let her know that she was not feeling the racy photo spread:

The former Ruff Ryder rhyme queen put it like this:

I worked with Nicki, I got to know her on ‘Barbershop’… she’s a nice person, she’s an amazing rapper, and as a lyricist I respect her,” Eve began, “But as a woman, from my point of view, personally, I would not be able to do that. I think in this climate, it’s not good. I think every artist has a right to express themselves however they want to express themselves and I respect that as well. For me personally, as I started coming up in the business, I started realizing that young girls were looking up to me and younger people were looking up to me, and that — not that you want to be a role model, but it it is what you are.

As I’ve gotten older I’ve learned that I’d just rather be a voice that’s uplifting, that I can be a voice for those girls that might not have a voice, in a different way without showing myself off … For the Nicki fans, because I know I’m going to get some tweets from her fans, I love her, respect her. Go women in hip-hop. It’s not my thing. I just don’t think it’s right period.”

Eve’s soliloquy garnered a rush of applause, which Sheryl Underwood agreed with, adding,

For me, also, it takes away from the lyrics, from the music because it’s so graphic and I just don’t think that girls need to see or think that’s the way to go.”

Minaj fans were none too pleased with Eve’s assessment of the Pink Barbie’s poses, and they unleashed their fury upon the former stripper-turned-rapper-turned actor Eve.
