Remy Ma is enjoying her reinvigorated career as a formidable “femcee” (female emcee) after spending six years in prison for shooting a former friend.
What Remy is not enjoying is the reported lack of booked shows and studio time being scheduled properly. And for these reasons, and more, Remy said she had to kick Tamar Braxton’s estranged husband Vincent Herbert to the curb.
Remy Ma, 37, fired Herbert as her manager after he reportedly failed miserably at being the “super manager” that he bills himself as.
The Bronx-born and bred rapper, whose real name is Reminisce Mackie, wants to capitalize on the momentum and enhanced name brand recognition accrued from her appearance on “Love & Hip Hop: New York.” But she has reportedly grown tired quickly from Herbert’s lack of production on her behalf.
Remy believes Herbert is singularly focused on rescuing and reconciling his marriage with Tamar Braxton and, therefore, has too little time and energy to appropriate to building Remy Ma’s career back to where it once was.
In addition, as TMZ intimated, Remy does not want to get entangled in their mangled marital mess that has played out before the world on “Tamar & Vince” and on Instagram. Remy saw as the rest of urban America did, how quickly Braxton went from zero to 60 when she thought Herbert was having an affair and possibly creating a child with fellow reality star Laura Govan.
Govan has vehemently denied ever having sexual relations with Herbert, much less becoming pregnant by him. She also reiterated that Herbert is far from her type of man. But it was the intensity of the backlash Govan got as a result of being put on blast by Braxton that isn’t something Remy wants to even think about.
