The annual Trumpet Awards serve as a beautiful celebration of black excellence. This year’s ceremony—which took place in Atlanta, GA and aired exclusively on Bounce TV—was a continuation of the Trumpet Award Foundation’s commitment to honoring the leaders within our community who have not only achieved greatness, but who have also inspired others along the way.
It was a personal honor for me to be a part of the festivities, as I was commissioned to create a portrait studio to commemorate the occasion. Jermaine Dupri (Music Innovation Award), Rhyon Brown (Rising Star Award), and Marley Dias (Trailblazer Award) were just a few of the honorees to step inside of the portrait studio, in addition to a host of other notables within the arts and entertainment space.
