Update:
Bill Cosby was not attacked by a piece of food while serving time in prison. The initial report, by Radar Online, said that Cosby was hit with a chicken patty.
The publication stated that Cosby, 81, allegedly cracked a joke on a fellow inmate while in the prison infirmary. The inmate became upset at Cosby and launched the chicken patty at Cosby, causing the piece of meat to hit the embattled comedian on the side of the face.
A correctional officer denied the claim.
Cosby is serving 3 to 10 years behind bars after being convicted of charges stemming from a 2004 incident in which Andrea Constand claimed that he sexually assaulted her while at his home. Constand said Cosby gave her pills that made her drowsy. At some point, Constand said, Cosby grabbed her breasts and made her perform a sexual act on him. Cosby said the encounter was consensual.
The comedian’s lawyers are currently seeking to get a new trial or have his sentence reduced on the grounds that he did not receive a fair trail.
