It is time for Madea to die.

Movie mogul Tyler Perry has decided that Madea has lived a long, prosperous and hilarious life at the box office and on stage. But it now time to close the casket and bury the iconic character who made its creator tens of millions of dollars while altering the English language forever.

Perry, 49, sat down with Bevy Smith on SiriusXM radio and teased the end of Madea and the manner in which he will bid adieu to the iconic character.

“This is it,” he declared simply on “Bevelations.” “It’s time for me to kill that old b—-. I’m tired!”

The New Orleans-born and bred box office baron said that he was already planned how he will get rid of his most famous character.

Madea, who was the main star that carried many of Perry’s plays and movies, only has several months to live. There is one good reason why Perry is planning Madea’s demise.

“We’re gonna say goodbye in ’19,” he said. “I just don’t want to be her age playing her.”

According to Perry, Madea will make her final bow in the upcoming film, Tyler Perry’s A Madea Family Funeral, due out in March. That movie, Perry said, has been ready for about two years. This marks the eighth Madea film in the popular franchise and the 11th film in which Perry’s portrayal of Madea has appeared.

Perry is also planning a farewell stage play tour across the country and said he will share the details in the coming months.

According to International Movie Database (IMDB.com), Madea powered most of Perry’s highest-grossing films, including Madea Goes to Jail, which pulled in nearly $100 million domestically:

  1. Madea Goes to Jail (2009)
  2. Boo! A Madea Halloween (2016)
  3. Madea‘s Witness Protection (2012)
  4. Madea‘s Family Reunion (2006)
  5. Why Did I Get Married Too? ( 2010)
  6. Why Did I Get Married? ( 2007)
  7. Madea‘s Big Happy Family (2011)
  8. Madea Christmas (2013)

Are you ready to say goodbye to the legendary Madea?
