It is not too late to experience the fiery 2018 Fiat 500 Abarth.

We are days away from a new year, and you may be looking for a new car. Well, if you like fast, compact, Italian cars, the Fiat 500 Abarth is for you.

For starters, don’t let the small size fool you. The Fiat 500 Abarth has a reputation as a “small but wicked” hot rod of a car. With 160-horsepower turbocharged inline-four engine under the bonnet, this car is best enjoyed when driven as a five-speed manual. Fiat also offers a six-speed automatic as an option.

Just about everyone is familiar with Fiat’s 500 car, but not too many know about the Fiat 500 Abarth. Besides the Abarth’s signature logo — a shield with a stylized scorpion on a yellow and red background — there is another big difference between both vehicles. The Fiat 500 Abarth is more powerful and sportier than the basic Fiat 500.

According to Fiat, the 500 Abarth “was designed for track-day enthusiasts and driving purists who want the ultimate high-performance small car with the pedigree of an exclusive Italian exotic.”

This car has a racy look with tuned-up suspension and brake systems. It also includes an upgraded turbocharged and twin-intercooled 1.4-liter MultiAir Turbo engine. You can pick either a manual transmission that provides 160 horsepower or the automatic transmission that delivers 157 horsepower. Other options include 10 hot exterior color schemes for the car.

Fiat 500 Abarth also comes with some street credit, too. It was named to U.S. News & World Report’s 2018 list of “Fastest Cars for the Money.”

This car offers Italian style and high performance at a modest price, with an MSRP starting at $20,495. The Fiat 500 Abarth model road-tested by rolling out has a price tag of $26,505.
