Fans have wondered what R. Kelly’s wife and children really feel about the beleaguered singer’s sexual assault indictment, the explosive “Surviving R. Kelly” documentary, and how it is negatively impacting their lives.
Audiences will have a chance to hear the family’s thoughts during season 3 of “Growing Up Hip Hop,” which returns on June 13.
This season of GUHH focuses on Andrea “Drea” Kelly’s three children Buku, Kyd, and Jaah, and their move back to Atlanta. They openly speak on the volatile issues related to R. Kelly, including those that have produced the screaming headlines and R. Kelly jail stints. Among them are the outstanding child support payments and the felony indictments on criminal sexual abuse.
Drea Kelly’s daughter Buku is also looking to step out of the long shadow cast by her superstar songwriter-singer of a father to become a respected artist in her own right.
GUHH fans knew this was coming when Drea Kelly joined the reality show back in March.
“As soon as I get a level of normalcy, (there is) some headline,” Drea Kelly says exasperatedly in the show’s trailer. Check it out below:
