Valerie Lee Branch-Galloway has strict rules for anyone who lives under her roof. The 42-year-old resident of Largo, Florida, became violent after her adult stepson failed to comply with her rules.

According to WTSP, Branch-Galloway issued a curfew of 11:30 p.m. for her stepson. However, he was still out partying with friends after midnight. She called her stepson and reportedly gave him two choices: tell his father about his lateness or get struck by a belt. Branch-Galloway told authorities that her stepson decided to endure the pain of being hit by a belt.

When the stepson finally arrived at the home after midnight, Branch-Galloway allegedly hit the man 19 times on his backside with the belt and told him that he had 19 more hits to go.

Branch-Galloway’s stepson decided to call the police and report her actions. When police arrived, she confessed to hitting her stepson 30 times but said that he never told her to stop.

She was eventually arrested and charged with domestic battery. Branch-Galloway could face up to one year in prison if convicted.
