Lil Nas X has made a big announcement that’s shocked many of his fans.
On Sunday night, June 30, 2019, during the final hours of Pride Month, the singer, who is famous for his country-trap hybrid of “Old Town Road,” revealed his sexuality in a tweet.
In the tweet, he asked fans to listen to his new song, “C7osure,” on his debut EP. He also included a message to fans and a rainbow emoji, seeming to confirm that he identifies as a member of the LGBTQ community. He also said he understands that his decision to come out may cost him fans.
“Some of y’all already know, some of y’all don’t care, some of y’all not gone fwm no more,” he wrote, “but before this month ends i want y’all to listen closely to c7osure.”

In the song, Lil Nas X sings the lyrics, “Ain’t no more actin’, man that forecast says I should just let me grow.” Later he says, “This is what I gotta do, can’t be regrettin’ when I’m old.”
Many fans were surprised by the news, but the rapper suggests he thought it was obvious. He also shared a series of tweets in which he used LGBTQ symbolism.
