“Beyoncé made Beychella for us and our positive response and appreciation towards it is greater than any award anyone could bestow upon it…but the Emmys still wild for that,” wrote filmmaker Matthew A. Cherry.
The award for Best Variety Special instead went to “Carpool Karaoke: When Corden Met McCartney.”
Fans were even more outraged than Bey’s industry contemporaries.
As one fan said: “Beyonce has been denied Emmys for #Lemonade, #Homecoming, and Album of the Year for #Lemonade despite being one of the most iconic and revolutionary musicians of this generation. They will never take our talent seriously. F— ’em.”
Check out the sampling of the mass anger raging through cyberspace on this Monday morning:
So that trash ass #LeavingNeverland mockumentary (that is riddled with verifiable LIES) won an #Emmy? And Beyoncé's #Homecoming lost to Carpool Karaoke?!? 🥴 pic.twitter.com/Mr5ZYB6XIZ

Snubbed is an understatement but we shouldn't be surprised. Too much culture for @TelevisionAcad. #Homecoming https://t.co/weSn1iS2fr

6 Emmys or 0 Emmys… #HOMECOMING remains one of the most powerful & important pieces of art of the decade. A masterclass in performing, musicianship, editing, choreography, cinematography, and dedication to your craft. #Emmys #CreativeArtsEmmys #EmmyArts https://t.co/wcN4hgoSv8

Beyoncé's #homecoming was a celebration of unadulterated blackness, of course The #Emmys wouldn't 'get' it. The thing is every snub, every loss enthuses Beyoncé to go above and beyond the constraints of genre and create something timeless. She's already cooking. @netflix
