What encouraging piece of advice would you give to your younger self?
Go for it, follow your dreams. When I was younger I had a lot of people, including my family, tell me that I was wasting my time working in radio because I wasn’t making much money. I was told to quit, find another job and that I was wasting my college education. I’m glad I stuck with it because I’m working in a field that I love, as opposed to working at a job I hate just to make a living.
What are three success habits you implement in your daily routine to maintain your success, sanity and peace of mind?
Some successful habits I’ve implemented into my daily routine are to pray, keep God first and thank him for the small things. Try and stay positive even when things don’t go your way, and just remember it can always be worse. Stay focused on your goals; it’s easy to get distracted. If you’re a parent, please designate some “me time.”
As a successful woman in business, what is your greatest or proudest achievement?
My proudest moment was becoming a mother. My daughter is 22 months [old] and she’s too young to fully understand exactly what I do for a living. It’s my goal to make her proud of the work I do to help the community [by] empowering others through internships and using my platform to educate others on issues that affect their communities.
