Even though she just broke into the music game not too long ago, the Detroit-born star Lizzo has already broken a significant Billboard record.
According to a Twitter post from Billboard, “Truth Hurts” has become the longest-reigning No. 1 single performed by a female rapper without features in the chart’s history.
“Truth Hurts” has been No. 1 for four consecutive weeks, surpassing the record established by Cardi B who had a three-week reign with “Bodak Yellow” in October 2017. Lauryn Hill had a two-week stay at the top of the Billboard charts in 1998 with “Doo Wop [That Thing].”

An ecstatic Lizzo, 31, celebrated the milestone with her 5.4 million Instagram fans on Monday, Sept. 23.
“Truth Hurts is officially the longest solo female rap #1 in history,” she wrote. “I fell in love with music when I was nine years old … I had no idea our love affair would go this far. Good to know it was all worth it. Don’t run away from what your heart wants. Follow that b— to your destiny.”
