Makeup artist Melissa Hibbért discusses her new book, ‘Face Your Beauty’

Tell us about your new book, Face Your Beauty.

It was birthed out of sacred moments with clients in my makeup chair and through conversations about experiences that shaped how they saw themselves.  I felt a connection with those stories because my journey and experiences were quite similar. The makeup application was beautiful, but the true transformation at that moment was the freedom and safety my clients felt talking about the painful and traumatic moments in their lives.

What do you hope people take away from the book?

I hope people who read my book will be reminded to stay true to their purpose and themselves. My book is a sweet reminder that there’s power in how we see ourselves — not just with the sight of our eyes, but with the vision in our souls of who we truly are.
