Iconic New York radio deejay Angie Martinez is reportedly prepared to undergo a lengthy surgery to repair her broken back suffered in a car crash last week.

Martinez, the host of her self-titled show on Power 105.1, is about to undergo four hours of surgery in order to repair her vertebrae in her lower back, according to The Shade Room and The Jasmine Brand

Despite the severity of her injuries, the publications report that Martinez does have feeling in her feet and legs.

Interestingly enough, no details have been released as to the how, where, and when this car crash took place. No word if anyone else was involved or if there were any other injuries.

As rolling out reported on Nov. 4, 2019, Martinez, 48, conveyed that she is extremely grateful that she is even alive, and understands that she will be recuperating and rehabilitating for quite “some time.”

This injury could not come at a worse time, however. Martinez had just debuted her TV series “Untold Stories of Hip-Hop” on WeTV and was set to hit the press circuit to promote the show.

No word on what will happen to the show in Martinez’s prolonged absence.

Below is a word of gratitude from Martinez as she recuperates in an undisclosed medical facility.
