Deyjah Harris, the daughter of rap boss T.I., has reportedly stopped following her father on social media, days after he inflamed pop culture by admitting that he annually has a gynecologist check his daughter’s hymen to ensure she is still a virgin.
According to The Daily Mail and E! News, Harris, 18, also stopped following her mother, Tiny Harris, and sister Zonnique Pullins. These publications admitted, however, that they aren’t exactly sure when Deyjah Harris unfollowed Tip.
Multiple publications reported that Harris showed how she really felt about her father’s stance on virginity and, more importantly, his revelation on the “Ladies Like Us” podcast. The daughter liked a series of tweets that called his actions “disgusting,” “possessive” and “controlling.” She also tweeted, “I loveeeeeee yalllllll.”
Clifford “Tip” Harris, 39, acknowledged with “Ladies Like Us” that he goes the extra mile to ensure that his daughter has remained a virgin until now.
“Right after the birthday, we celebrate…usually the day after the party. She’s enjoying her gifts. I put a sticky note on the door: ‘Gyno, tomorrow, 9:30,'” he said. “We’ll go and sit down, and the doctor will come and talk, and you know, the doctors maintain a high level of professionalism. He’s like, ‘Well, you know, sir: In order for me to share information…’ I say, ‘Deyjah they want you to sign this…so we can share information. Is there anything that you would not want me to know?'”
He also recalled asking the doctor to “just check the hymen, please, and give me back my results, expeditiously.”
“But I will say, as of her 18th birthday, her hymen is still intact,” T.I. said.
