Ice Cube attempts to clarify working with Republicans on ‘Platinum Plan’

“Ain’t nothing wrong with talking to power,” Cube said. “Every person I know trying to get something done has talked to power so that’s nothing, that’s a part of it. I expect to talk to every damn president until we get this contract done. I’m not playing the game of ‘I’m on this team and they’re on that team.’ I don’t think we can afford to do that. We can’t afford to be on nobody’s team. We got to be on the Black team and whoever is doing the most — that’s how we roll.”

When asked if he believes that the current president would implement the plan, Cube was frank.

Do I believe Donald Trump and do I believe these politicians and what they’re gonna do? Hell no,” he added. “To me, they’re the same people, two sides of the same coin. One of them is just a little more polished than the other. But, they’re both White men from the ‘50s. Both of them have in some ways been evil to Black people. We can’t be looking for a lesser evil, they’re all evil.”

Cube continues to face backlash on social media as many believe that his meeting was a ploy to garner the Black vote for the Republican presidential campaign weeks before the election.
