Dr. John Lipman’s life’s work is to educate Black women about fibroids

Complete the following sentences:

I am committed to providing … outstanding, compassionate care and being the best physician possible for our patients. I want to deliver excellence by acting with integrity and exceeding the expectations of the patients who have entrusted us with their care.

I work to make a difference by … educating women suffering with fibroids [so they know] they have treatment options instead of surgery. Many of these women unnecessarily undergo hysterectomy, not knowing about uterine fibroid embolization. UFE is one of the biggest medical breakthroughs, and despite its long track record of safety and efficacy, most women have never heard of this outstanding nonsurgical procedure.

A great day for me at work ... is seeing patients in follow-up after a uterine fibroid embolization procedure. Many of these patients were literally tied to their horribly heavy and painful periods. With this occurring month after month, it begins to take a toll mentally and physically. … After UFE, they’re literally transformed, and they get their life back. This is extremely gratifying that I can help make this transformation happen for my patients. It’s the fuel that drives my work each and every day.
